Children pick up bad habits and wrong techniques easily in their early years of learning. Hence the first teacher plays a vital role in the success of learning an instrument as corrections of wrong techniques learnt would require diligent and painstaking effort on the part of the teacher as well as the student. Techniques such as the correct key attack, touch, hand position, body movement, transfer of weight etc are taught early on from beginners stage. I like to start my lesson by listening to my students voice to get an idea of his/her voice range, technique, and style that is suitable for the particular student hence it will be great if the student is able to prepare a song of their choice in any genre that they like and show me during the first lesson. After that is done, I will start by warming up and building a strong base of techniques which includes vocal control, pitch, rhythm etc. This way it will be easier for the students to build more on top of it including the texture, emotions, presentation etc. I do not like to stress my students out and prefer to teach my students by encouraging them and making sure that the students is always in a comfortable state during class, this will allow the students to enjoy their lesson and absorbing the information learnt in class. Other than that, Practising is the main commitment of this journey.

I am a lady teacher with 22 years of experience in teaching children and adults aged from 4 years old. I have been conducting piano lessons for private students and teaching part time at a local music school since 1999. I teached piano practical to beginner to grade 8 level and conduct group and individual theory classes up to grade 8 under ABRSM and TRINITY SYLLABUS. As an active jazz and pop pianist and keyboardist in the music industry, he is well in touch with the current skills needed in the gig scene. Therefore, he would be able to highlight the important skill set not only to increase one's skill needed to play contemporary music, but also to educate other students too.
Justin's teaching approach will start off with pop music first, emphasizing on important musical aspects such as rhythm-on-metronome and basic chords. Once student shows good command in the basic aspects of pop music, he will introduce what is jazz, which encompasses advance chords, the jazz essense and improvisation.

Tessa graduated from University of Sheffield, UK with a Master of Arts in Music Performance and holds a Bachelor Degree (Honours) in Music from Middlesex University, London majoring in piano. She was appointed the Head of Music and Head of Year at Sri KDU International School. During her tenure in KDU School, she was responsible for the development of music program for British curriculum in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Cambridge IGCSE Music).

She has experience in teaching Malaysians and expats from England, Australia, France, Austria, Hungary, Canada, US, Brazil, Japan, China, Philippines and Vietnam, children and adults. She handle exam syllabus of the ABRSM and prepare students for exams. She has experience as a piano accompanist too. She participated as a piano accompanist in singing competition for state of Pahang at 16 years old, and involved in school singing competitions as a piano accompanist when she was a teenager. She has experience in piano accompanist in vocal and violin exams too. Her latest piano accompanist experience was in September 2017, a vocal performance which was held in Esplanade Theatre, Singapore. She also participated in Halo Songwriting Competition, as a piano accompanist and piano arranger for the song, Yi Hao Gong Lu, the song was composed by Xiang Chih Ling, and sang by a famous emcee and entertainer Royce Tan. This event was held in KL Pac, Kuala Lumpur in May 2018. Besides, she has experience at gigs by playing cocktail piano in Christmas party, and also as an accompanist in wedding dinner.
