This kind of skills are rarely taught since it needs to be picked up from a long time of experience writing code. My wife is also providing Japanese Language training. Depending on what I am teaching, for universities or programming/engineering based subjects, I usually create powerpoint slides for my tutorials to better help the students understand the lesson. As for teaching school children, I usually spend some time at least a day or so to prepare and ensure I know the material. That way I can better prepare simpler ways of understanding certain aspects of the lesson especially sections that require more focus.
