I used to teach in a private institution for 6 1/2 years in management field. I do part time job too as a private tutor to a small group of students of 4-5 daily. I focus on teaching Science and Mathematics in English for students who are preparing for UPSR (Primary 1-6). The teaching style varies depending on one individual and also the subject chosen. I usually ask my students to come out with a mind-map after each lesson for a better way to understand each topic taught. My way of teaching does not rely on memorising but I would prefer students to understand and use the concept of application (especially in Science subject) while for Mathematics, tutorials will be given after each explanation to make sure students are able to apply the right way/method of calculation. I would also include innovative way of teaching at which videos on related subject matters will be previewed during the tutor lesson for in-dept study.
