Bachelor's Degree, CELTA, Goethe-Zertifikat C1, TestDaF 220.127.116.11
Reach me directly on Fb ujoelee. Oder schick mir eine Nachricht, 0 1 2 9 3 5 6 7 9 9 ist die Nummer. I speak English, German, Cantonese, Malay, and basic Mandarin. GERMAN: "I help A Level students pass their German language exams to prepare for study in Germany." Since 2018 I have prepared more than 100 A Level students for their Cambridge AS Level German exam (Papers 1, 2, 3), of which two received Top in Malaysia award for the November 2020 examination series. I have also tutored beginners starting from zero to learn German for the Goethe A1, A2, and B1 exams. With a C1 in the Goethe-Zertifikat proficiency exam and having scored 18.104.22.168 in the TestDaF exam myself, I can share with you from my personal experience important exam techniques to deal with Goethe and TestDaF tasks and questions. ENGLISH: "I help English learners improve their speaking and vocabulary to communicate better at work, at school, and in social situations." Since 2012 I have taught English to secondary school and college students as well as adults. CANTONESE: "I help non-Cantonese speakers practice conversation to connect better with their friends, colleagues, and clients in the local community, and I also help semi-speakers revive their language skills to reconnect with their family heritage." Driven by a burning passion to keep my heritage language alive, I am glad to help others learn conversational Cantonese through speaking practice.
Online, with notes, written exercises, listening and speaking live. Let me know your target, we work together to achieve it. We start with the sound system of the language, then go to basic grammar, sentence structure and word understanding step by step. I use a communicative, interactive approach based on your needs. When we talk about things important to you, you practice, absorb, and activate what we cover in the lesson, whether it's a grammar topic or functional language. For German we can do exam preparation techniques or focus on specific skills building (speaking, listening, writing, reading) depending on what you want. For spoken English and Cantonese the learning focus will be on dialogues and conversation topics.
Patient, kind and generous! Mr. U Joe guided me step by step from zero to A1 – he’d always explain in detail, making sure you would understand. He is familiar with the Goethe Institute syllabus and will prep you more than enough for each section of the exam. His materials are always fun and engaging yet challenging. Mr. U Joe never got impatient with me if I ever forgot a word or something that has been taught previously. He is always there for me along the way, answering any questions of mine. Most of all, he cracks good dad jokes!
I started learning German with Lee since about six months ago and am now at B1-ish level. Lee is a great teacher; he provides really useful and productive exercises which he goes through with you in every class. His style of teaching is full of clarity and he manages to explain the complex aspects of the language really well. What I especially like is that we would have normal, everyday conversations in German before we go into learning the more technical stuff. He is also great with jokes and his classes feels nothing like the regular rigid "classes", which can end up to be quite boring. If you're looking to learn German efficiently and quickly from scratch, look no further!

Children pick up bad habits and wrong techniques easily in their early years of learning. Hence the first teacher plays a vital role in the success of learning an instrument as corrections of wrong techniques learnt would require diligent and painstaking effort on the part of the teacher as well as the student. Techniques such as the correct key attack, touch, hand position, body movement, transfer of weight etc are taught early on from beginners stage. Success in learning would also depend on how closely a student is able to follow the teacher's instruction on how to practice. A piano lesson would include Practical and Theory of Music, Sight Reading, Aural and Music Appreciation. Practical would comprise of a technique book, a lesson book and additional repertoire pieces.

I'M A SPECIALIST tutor for CHEMISTRY, MATHS & ADD MATHS with 11 years of experience. My track record: 80% of committed students of mine scoring A- and above as their overall score. In fact, I had few border-line students who eventually became top scorers in their schools respectively after taking my classes.11 years of teaching experience for students from national, international schools & universities. Currently a PhD research candidate in a public university.
Exam focused intensive classes for students preparing for any particular examination/ certification, Topical learning for adults. Class modes: "ONE-to-ONE" and GROUP TUITION available where the tutor will conduct the lesson at the student's residence. Other subjects such as the following can be arranged upon request: ENGLISH, MALAY, TAMIL, ECONOMICS, GEOGRAPHY, BUSINESS STUDIES / PERDAGANGAN, COMPUTERS/ IT, ENGINEERING MODULES, ACCOUNTING, STATISTICS, CALCULUS, HISTORY, PENGAJIAN AM, Students may not be aware of exactly what they do not know. Students should learn the art of 'knowing what they don't know'. Examinations are just an expression of what we know and do not know regarding a particular topic. For instance, in the event that a student gets 40% for his science examination correct, this means that he has yet to have an understanding of the other 60% of his science subject. The approach to increase his marks is to understand what he/ she still does not understand, and assist them understand and comprehend that. Sadly, many students never know what they don't know with regards to the subject matter which they're learning. Preferable Rate: University (~RM110-150/ hr) Pre-U (~RM80-130/ hr) SPM (~RM45-60/ hr) PMR (~RM40-50/ hr) UPSR (~RM30-35/ hr) Qualification: Present: PhD candidate (ongoing) M.Eng (Chemical Eng.) B.Eng (Chemical Eng.) Experience: 11 years of solid teaching experience for students from national, international schools & universities. Currently a PhD research candidate. Have coached children of expatriates and VIPs. Why choose me? 1. Years back I was a student like you. I acknowledge the hardship of being a student 2. I put myself in a learner's shoe during lessons 3. Curiosity and Attitude towards learning is more important than knowledge in heart 4. Student's improvement in a specific subject within 3 months is assured as long they stay committed
Masters of Education
I have 15 years of teaching experience and have taught students of various school background (local, private and international school students). I studied Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) for my Diploma and Degree and have graduated my Masters degree of Education (Educational Management) from University of Melbourne.
We are now in the 21st century and nurturing students as future leaders is very important. My teaching approach moves towards that notion. I first will start off with analyzing students' strengths and weaknesses, understanding students' characters and will then personalize my teaching depending on each student. Within the teaching and learning sessions, I will also impart the knowledge and awareness of independent learning, loving the learning process and how to be responsible of students' own learning. I believe these are important for young students to know so that they will be very much prepared for their own future.
BEng. Chemical Engineering & BSc. Maths, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics. Currently studying Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching & Learning
I have taught mathematics for students from Primary 4 to Pre-university mostly under the UK Curriculum (including IGCSE and A-levels). The students I've taught have all passed, most with high grades. I usually teach on a 1-to-1 basis in an open area at the students home. Lessons are normally 2 hours, but some elect for 1 hour. I have taught children with special needs but please note I am not certified for it.
I am someone who will adjust accordingly to the students needs if it proves to be useful. At the beginning of the lesson I normally conduct a quick review of what's covered previously. For new topics I teach the theory piece by piece and demonstrate 1 or 2 examples before getting students to do exercises during lessons. To me it is more important that I get a student to understand a topic in-depth rather than get them to memorise a formula or an algorithm of steps because the latter usually results in just a surface understanding rather than a deep understanding; they know the method works but they don't know why it works. After a few topics are covered I would normally get a student to do small tests during the lessons (usually no longer than an hour), not only to help them retain topics but also work on proper exam techniques. I try not to restrict myself to the orthodox method of teaching as it may not work for some students. So I'm constantly researching new methods or creatively thinking of ways that would help a particular student understand certain topics. However, math can be mundane to some if you don't sometimes inject some things to keep the lessons interesting. Therefore on occassion I may slip in something unrelated to their syllabus such as logic-based riddles which companies may use in their aptitude tests during their hiring process, or mathematical workings that show bizarre results.
MA (Hons) International Relations
I tutored regularly for 2 years during my time working in Qatar, and since then only periodically. I am starting to tutor again while I get my startup going in Malaysia, which is in the edtech space. I have a lot of business and consulting experience that can be a valuable part of the knowledge I can share, in addition to the subjects I am passionate about.
My lessons are tailored individually based on a conversation with each student on their goals and needs, and on being responsive to each student's progress. People learn in different ways. With English and Test Preparation, I focus heavily on analytical skills and reading for comprehension. Exercises / Discussion / Correction of mistakes / Explanations /Homework.
