I would like to ask the student how he/she feels about the subject. Then I will try to test the ability and understanding of the student before I start my lesson plan. Then as time goes by, I will specifically ask in which chapter he/she needs more attention. I would explain more about the topics rather than straightly jump into solving questions. Because to me, solving questions with minimum understanding always leads to memorising answer, not understanding the concept.
