Qualification | Qualification: BA Economics, University of California Berkeley |
Experience | Experience: Worked with US veterans and students with special needs at the office of special services in Los Angeles City college for a period of 3 years. This enabled me to work with an array of personalities, tailoring lessons to play to their strengths. |
Options | Options: Home Tuition |
Approach | Approach: Above all, I emphasize the need for self confidence. Lessons will focus on building confidence of the student in the particular subject matter.
Typical lesson will involve in the following:
1. Demonstration on the topic being covered and showing sample questions.
2. Make the student explain the concept and question to me to ensure they have an understanding of it.
3. Student will continue to build on this understanding by doing more practice questions.
I like to build on the student's soft skills and behavioral aspects to ensure they correctly capture the concept shown. Classes tend to be interactive and prefer for the student to think out loud with minimal guidance. Personally, I found the best teachers are those who teach the least. |
