My approach for STPM level is more on exercise and past year viewing questions based on chapters. This is because STPM's subject mostly sometime cycled questions from past years as well as the exercises, and need to deeply looked into each chapters for better understanding. Overall, STPM is about understanding the concept and you will have less hard time to answer the exam !

I've coached at least 40 students in the past 3 years. My approach hinges on practicality. I do not believe in giving out too many assignments. Instead, I focus on the fundamentals. So long as students are able to understand the basics, they would be able to tackle problems confidently. I graduated from the USA where independent learning is the order of the day so I intend to share techniques which will guarantee a more holistic approach towards learning.

Tutoring Approach

My classes are simple, max 1.5 hours per session. I hope to have at least 2 per week to deliver results. The first class will deal with concepts whilst the second will be used to explore common questions and best practices. At the end of each 2nd session, a quiz will be given to gauge the student's level. If need be, I will revisit chapters of the past to reinforce their understanding of the material. All I seek in return is commitment towards learning, enthusiasm and discipline.

My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students’ homework for them!
