Before I went to do my Master in Music Performance in the UK, I taught violin for 5 years from beginners up until ABRSM grade 8, children until adult beginners. My aim when I teach violin is not to have them take exams. Although I can send them to exam when I think they are ready, but it is not my priority. The purpose of me teaching the violin is so that the student will be able to appreciate music and respect the art and find the beauty in learning the skills despite the challenges of learning an instrument.

I don't have one set formula to fit all. This is because everyone individual is different. They progressed differently. One method might work with one student, but it might not work with another. I work on based on the student's strengths and weaknesses. I try to be flexible as I get to know them better because the most important thing is not what convenient for me, but what is the best for them.

I keep time for revision before exams and after finishing a section a plan out a brush up of lessons taught via an exam. Planning specializes my lessons.
