Kavin: Nurturing Minds through Tutoring

I have three years of experience teaching Form 4 and Form 5 students in Physics and Biology. My students have generally really enjoyed my classes as they finally understand the concepts and principles as opposed to the dull tendency to memorize. I have improved the results of a large majority of my students. I also include simple demonstrations and real life observations especially in regard to teaching Physics.

My lesson plans are generally unique and personalized to the students that I am teaching as different students respond differently to certain methods. Besides different methods of teaching, shy and reserved students tend to need a different communication approach than their louder counterparts from my experience. However in both cases, I place a very heavy emphasis on students understanding the core foundational concepts instead of blindly memorizing the facts and applying them. Students seems to have a very rigid way of studying the science subjects and my main focus is to disengage them from this tendency and instead teach them to learn to constantly ask questions, think critically and scientifically. With my teaching, students will be able to apply the concepts they have learned to different contexts and answer questions that require extra reasoning and problem solving skills. I want my students to have a genuine appreciation of Physics and Biology and be able to apply what they have learned to real life situations
