Good Communication with students is the key, to make them listen to you. I can say with confidence as long as they listen to me they can do their best. I have started teaching younger students first (primary). Now I have students from secondary too. As I teach students I learn with them too.

I plan my lesson beforehand in a powerpoint, which focuses on the main points of the topic. I use pictures and colours more than words which I believe helps my students to remember things better. I can summarise long informations easily into short summaries. After they have made their basics strong I move into details.

I am a Bachelors graduate in Biotechnology as well as a Masters graduate in Advanced Biological Sciences. I’m currently employed as a Research Scientist in a stem cell company, so biology is the science I engage in every day. Much of the difficulty students face in academic subjects can be attributed to the lack of executive functioning. They either cannot keep up with the pace and workload that advanced courses demand or haven't figured out the best way to study for themselves. I am able to assess a student's shortcomings and formulate a plan for higher achievement. The late physicist, Richard Feynman, posited that the ability to explain complicated ideas in a simple manner is the true mark of understanding. I agree with this assertion, and I make it my goal each tutoring session to explain even the most complex phenomena in a simple way, so that my student will come away from the lesson with confidence that they grasped the information.

My lesson plans are generally unique and personalized to the students that I am teaching as different students respond differently to certain methods. Besides different methods of teaching, shy and reserved students tend to need a different communication approach than their louder counterparts from my experience. However in both cases, I place a very heavy emphasis on students understanding the core foundational concepts instead of blindly memorizing the facts and applying them. Students seems to have a very rigid way of studying the science subjects and my main focus is to disengage them from this tendency and instead teach them to learn to constantly ask questions, think critically and scientifically. With my teaching, students will be able to apply the concepts they have learned to different contexts and answer questions that require extra reasoning and problem solving skills. I want my students to have a genuine appreciation of Physics and Biology and be able to apply what they have learned to real life situations
