I was graduate at UKM with an honorable degree in Mathematics in 1996, was attempting various job until I found my life long passion, teaching Mathematics. I had been teaching Pre u statistic at INTI college FROM 2002 to 2008. At 2009, I got a teaching position at Kuenching High School. I have worked with at Appit universities as a Mathematics Lecturer at 2010 to 2012 I quit from working for other people and become a full time Maths tutor. My experience has provide me the capacity of understand the mind of the student and the method of improve their Maths skill. It is truly a pleasure that my students grow under my supervision.

Tutoring Approach

I provide one-to-one lessons in CAIE A-Level Further Mathematics and Mathematics, SPM/IGCSE Mathematics, and Additional Mathematics. My teaching will follow a tutorial approach whereby we will be doing exam-style questions. By doing so, students will be able to solidify their understanding of the topics taught and establish great confidence in tackling exam questions. I provide a detailed and intuitive understanding of mathematical concepts through examples and graphical visualizations. A typical lesson will be 1-2 hours. Outside of the tutoring hours, students are welcome to ask for help with their math homework.

I am a Sunway University Year 1 Actuarial Science student that did well in A-Level Maths and Further Maths.I do not have any certified teaching experience. I prefer to teach students 1 on 1 through home tutoring, online, or even in cafe/restaurants. Since I do not have any certified teaching experience, I would like to request for a guidance for me to start as a part time tutor.

Tutoring Approach

I would plan my lessons chapter by chapter, following the student's textbook. After teaching each chapter, we would do chapter lessons ranging from easy to complex questions. If the student can answer all complex questions, only then we would continue the next chapter. If not, I will stop and look at the student's problem and discuss together on why the student is unable to solve the question, it could be carelessness, misunderstanding of formula use, misunderstanding the question, unable to capture the whole picture of the question, etc. I believe this approach is doable since in 1 to 1 tutoring you have more focus on the student and can stop to solve all doubts before moving on to the next part. After all chapters are covered and lessons are done, we would do questions covering all chapters like end-of-year papers or past year papers. Of course, I will also hugely encourage a two way learning whereby we both participate in the discussions of the problems together and not a one way learning instead.

Had informal experience tutoring family members and friends. Passionate about teaching and loves imparting my knowledge to students. I am currently an incoming 3rd year MEng Civil Engineering student from Imperial College London and have a fundamentally strong background in Math and Physics. I believe that students should have a good grasp in the fundamentals of the concepts of a certain subject, especially when it comes to math and physics. This is because students may get drowned in the technicality of the subject and cease to look at the topic from different perspectives, which may lead to them disliking the subject entirely. My teaching approach will include intuitive, creative and interesting approaches to explaining important concepts for each topic, before tackling examination styled questions with a range of difficulty. Of course, each student will have different needs as well as a different level of understanding on each topic. I will have to personalise my lessons based on each individual student and hence I find it important for me to get to know my students relatively well enough prior to tutoring to understand how I can help them.
