I started teaching while I was in college, tutoring English for my classmates. I also proofread my brother's research paper and thesis. Tutoring English and Mathematics for my Standard 3 and 5 cousins were my only experience teaching children. However, I prefer to teach kids as I love their enormous curiosity to learn new things. Aside for MUET, I passed the test with a band 5 so if you need any assistance especially on the essay segment I will share tips and help as best as I can

Tutoring Approach

For our first lesson, I will conduct an ice breaking session. I believe that getting to know your students is crucial to gauge their strengths and weaknesses in a particular subject. Ice breaking sessions will also help me to recognize their interests and likes so that I can incorporate them in my lesson plan. One thing I learned about teaching kids is formal methods may bore them, thus by integrating their hobbies and interests into the subject they will find it fun and enjoyable.

- For Psychology related subjects, we are going to use analogies to understand the topics better and I am able to share my personal experiences in class as well as in my current profession as a clinical psychologist, mainly in trauma cases.
- I use visual aids and games to assist my students in understanding certain topics.
- As someone who practise clinical psychology, people find me approachable and able to openly communicate with me regarding their needs and concerns.
- I am also open to assist if the student has test anxiety which is common among the youth especially teenagers.

Past Experiences:
- I did my internship at a centre for children with special needs where I was responsible as the teaching assistant for children with specific learning disorder, dyslexia, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
- A Global Volunteer representing AIESEC UKM to Indonesia to teach the primary school children English and cultural exchange.
