Tutoring Approach

Before I teach, I will prepare teaching materials that suit my understanding from various resources like internet and reference books. Then, I will prepare a procedure planning to teach and think about my speech in class. Before starting class, I will spend 5min to discuss with parents. During application in class, I always request my student to prepare a short note to jot down important things or sketch a mind map in my tutoring session. After my presentation, I will separate them into groups to discuss my group exercise given to them and to present the knowledge to me as an evidence to learn my shared knowledge in class just now. In the end, I will make a conclusion of the knowledge learnt in the session and I will make a revision class in the next session. Before leaving, I will report student progression to parents in 5 min.

I graduated from secondary school with 8A in PMR and 6A4B in SPM. I pursued a diploma and degree in Chemical Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Pahang and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, respectively. Currently, I am working as a Lab Engineer at a local manufacturing company.

During my diploma years, I went to various schools to be a facilitator, teaching Mathematics and English. I was also active in extracurricular activities during my degree, serving on committees and as a project director.

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Calculus have been my favorite subjects since high school. I consistently achieved high grades in Mathematics tests during form 4 and 5, with no records of a B grade. All you need to succeed is a strong foundation in basic knowledge!

Tutoring Approach

1. Get to know the current syllabus.
2. Understand the student's weaknesses.
3. Maximize the usage of the textbook. The first reference is the textbook.
4. Build a strong foundation and basic knowledge of the subjects.
5. Allow students to make a lot of mistakes while learning and analyze the mistakes together.

I am a gentle tutor. I believe gentle teaching works by ensuring students are comfortable and confident to learn, and not afraid to make mistakes. Studying is already stressful, we aren't going to make it more stressful by adding pressure!
