Piano - I will focus on contemporary and modern music rather than classical pieces. I am willing to teach my students any song which they request to learn, as my teaching approach is flexible. Not much experience, but i was a peer coach back at school. I used to form groups and teach my friends my best subjects while they teach me their best subjects. Also, i was selected as one of the few students to help our peers prepare for their chinese finals. Taught English local students at an orphanage for half a year and the review was good. There was a time when my results were very bad, and i managed to improve within 1.5months from a F grade to an A grade. Hence, i know the struggle and fear of students who are constantly unable to do well and therefore able to help them.

Usually depends on student's studying method. For language, i focus on pronunciation and usage. For maths, flexibility and practice. Everything will be taught in English except Chinese. Gentle approach, in order to nurture self discipline and keep studying fun&light.

Personally, I am a visual learner so I truly empathise with you or your child who needs more detailed explanations especially with the help of pictures and colours. I believe each student has their own unique way of strategic learning as well as their own definition of productivity. Hence for my approach, I will choose to go casual and friendly so that this "tuition" does not feel burdensome. I also use online materials like videos to spice up the learning process, which I believe helps TREMENDOUSLY compared to traditional printed books. I also prefer to discuss the learning outcomes periodically with the student/parents (pre- or post- tutoring) so that both our expectations are set and none of the parties get left out in the journey. With that said, I trust that practice makes perfect. Because success is 1% talent/luck, 99% dedication.
