I prefer face to face tutoring and mutual agreement for location. Still, online tutoring is also available. For introduction, I have to know the level of student's studies. First meeting is more to acquire and evaluate the students's strengths and weaknesses on the subject. The student have to answer a set of questions in the first meeting. From this, I will plan the lessons. And the next meeting will officially start the tutoring class as per lessons planned.
