I have obtained my Master in Engineering Degree in Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunications from UTM, in 2009. At present, I am a Ph.D. candidate at Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. Owing to my previous experiences of teaching in the department of Engineering at University level, I am able to teach varying concepts in communication Engineering-in an Engaging way that promotes participation. Besides I have been attached to few tuition centres and given one to one classes as a hometuition around selangor and KL.

The course that I experiences with is Calculus for diploma and degree students. My style of teaching is more to tackle on what the students’ lack on. I prioritize and emphasize on one’s understanding of a topic. I will emphasize on topic that are not understood and give the most concise and easy to understand the explanation.

First, I identify the objective of the class. What do you hope to accomplish by the end of the period? Are there specific things that the students should know or able to do? Then I determine the student’s need. What kind of material that the students prefer and familiar with. I will provide with decent material and resources such as more exposure questions on different level on paper or digital. Next, I will engage the student to be more interested in what I am teaching. Then, introduce the subject more formally, which I will derive the formula from scratch to build students’ understanding. I love the idea to involve the students in the process whenever possible so they are engaged. For example, ask the students to solve and explain the problem and answers the questions. I also will allow the students to practice such as guided practice, collaborative process or independent practice. Then, do a brief overview of the lesson. Ask students to identify the key information on the topic such as the formula, the main concept so they understand the overall topic. Lastly, I will evaluate the lesson. Did we achieve your learning objectives? Provide students with short quiz or test to know their understanding towards the topic. Depending on the result, the next lesson plan may include a review of information before moving on to new material.

I am Bilal Haider, a Research Assistant in Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), Malaysia from July 2017. In TIPS, Pakistan, I taught Physics and Mathematics for the Form6 Students from the year 2011 till 2016. I was also an academic teacher at Hasan Academy. It is very common that students are not cleared with the syllabus learning outcomes. They are not confident and do not believe in Active Learning. As an Academic teacher at Hasan Academy, Pakistan, after spending time with students, I encountered that students usually feel hard to imagine and visualize the concepts in Physics and Chemistry. To remove this barrier, I have explained the Philosophy of Physics and Chemistry with its application to real life. I demonstrated the experiments in class to explain the concept and logic behind the phenomenon. To promote the Independent Learning Style, I push the student to participate in Presentations and explain the topic in their way. I applied Student Specific Teaching Methodology through which I uplift the confidence of students to perform better in the examination. In my lectures, I played videos related to the topic and run the animations so that students can easily understand. I formulated worksheets for each lecture class which helped the students’ short-term memory. In each lecture, I use to solve the past paper questions from Question Bank to strengthen the students' concepts and motivate them to solve the tricky question in exams.
