I first propose a learning plan that matches the parents’ expectations (what they want to achieve) to the students’ abilities (what they can realistically achieve). This plan is done together with the parents so they understand and can track their child’s growth. I adopt a holistic teaching method by introducing technique, sight-reading, aural training, scales, music theory etc. through the pieces they play. I can also arrange pieces that my students like according to their abilities so that they enjoy learning music.

I would first meet the child for the first lesson before starting the teaching.  In the first lesson, I would find out the level of the child and then start drafting my lesson plans according to the development of the child.
