Jane Rajaratnam: Your Personal Tutoring Partner

I am Jane and I am the best teacher for you! I studied at University Canterbury, New Zealand where i got my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and my Post Graduate in teaching English as a Second Language. I have been teaching in well established International schools for 28 years in 6 countries and here in Penang in Dalat American International school and St. Christopher's British International School. I taught English as a second language to all ages and I also taught Kindergarten and Year 1 all subjects. In some of the International Schools, I was also the Principal for Kindergarten. Working in 6 different well established International schools in 6 countries and cultures have taught me how students feel and learn  when they are trying to learn English or other subjects. I teach according to the students' understanding of the subject and advance the student from there and according to how the student learns. I also trained teachers how to understand their students and present their teaching to individual students and as a class.

The most important thing as a teacher is to understand the student and be kind. My teaching method is flexible, there are many ways to present teaching to students. Some learn hands on, visually, by listening, game based, student centered discussions and making connections just to name a few. I present lessons according to how the students learn best. I present my teaching in a fun, enjoyable way that makes the students want to learn more. I make my own resources. At the end of the course, my students speak and write closely like native english speakers do and they also do very well academically in other subjects.
