Before having tuition, I had no interest at all in Accounting. Through my school's friend, I got to know Ms Jophy. I requested for a free trial class from her. And within 1 month, I started to understand Debit and Credit and some theories through mnemonics that she taught me. I love the tuition class and enjoyed the lesson. I got an A in the first exam I had taken after tuition and this boosted my interest in accounting even more! After three months, I decided to have tuition with Ms Jophy in Mathematics and Additional Mathematics. She prepared her own colored notes for me.

I took IELTS in August and got 6.0 for writing. I retake again in December and went to her 2 weeks before my IELTS. I specifically requested guidance in writing and it improved from 6.0 to 6.5. I find that she is very dedicated as she checked and analysed all my previous essays to check for common mistakes that I tend to make when I write essays. The common mistakes she detected has helped me a lot in improving my writing. I find that she is very sincere in teaching as she really makes sure that I understand the items that she has taught. She also gave me a lot of tips to help me get higher marks in the IELTS Writing.

I realised from my previous tutoring experiences that I am a tutor who rather emphasizes on understanding a particular concept than memorising it. Biology, contrary to popular belief among Malaysian, I believe is a subject which needs to be understood instead of memorised. It is my pleasure to aid students in grasping the main principles of the subjects I teach.
Messages will be conveyed through mind maps and diagrams during Biology lessons. Each chapter will always start with an overview so that students might grasp the 'floorplan' of that chapter. When I go into the details, students will be guided to relate different parts of mind maps/diagram given during the class. Analogies on the other hand will be used to aid in understanding Mathematic. Once the students understand the concept, they will be guided to solve various Mathematical problems. For Mathematics, I believe in the saying 'Practice Makes Perfect'. All in all, my lessons are not only fun- and understanding-oriented. I like to trigger the student's mind to think critically so that they could answer questions asked in different ways during exams.
As to what he said in his introduction, he really emphasizes on understanding instead of memorising. I feel that it indeed is a better way to study a subject instead of always memorising it. I like how he is always very patient when his students don't understand a particular topic and how he doesn't mind repeating the same thing twice, or sometimes more than that.
