1) I am a Master's holder in Statistics from USM in the year 2019. I started to teach home tuition since 2013 and have guided many students from various levels.  2) I am a tutor specializing in teaching Mathematics subjects only. The subjects that I covered are Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and Statistics for SPM, STPM, UEC, IGCSE, O-Level and Cambridge A-Level. I can also guide Mathematics and Statistics subjects for Diploma, Certificate, Foundation and Degree levels.  3) Below are the levels that I covered for my tuition classes:  a) For National School (SMK and SMJK), I only accept Form 4 and Form 5 students.  b) For IGCSE and O-Level, I only covered Additional Mathematics subject.  c) For UEC, I only accept Senior Levels (Senior 1, 2 and 3).  d) For STPM, both Mathematics (T) and Mathematics (M) are accepted.  e) For Cambridge A-Level, I only accept Mathematics (9709) candidates. Tutoring Approach

1) I prefer one-to-one tutoring. 2) I am teaching using my own prepared tuition handouts.  3) I can explain to students using Malay, English or Chinese languages, but I only accept students who learn Mathematics in English language as I only managed to prepare my tuition notes in English Language only.  4) In my tuition notes, I prepared sufficient examples to discuss with students together with commonly asked exam question examples. I also prepared many exercises so that students have enough practice.  5) For SPM students, I also prepared sufficient exercises for KBAT/ HOTS to help students in increasing their thinking skills so that they are able to answer this kind of question in the exam.  6) For all levels of students, my tuition notes are prepared matched with the syllabus and some questions similar with past year questions were included.   7) I will often provide extra time or extra classes for my students so that they are able to learn more from my class.

I graduated with second upper class in BSc in Business in 2010. I also completed MBA in UNITAR International University with CGPA of 3.88 in 2016 and ACCA Professional Qualification in 2020.   During my university studies, I was working as a part time tutor for around 4 years. I was handling BM, BI and Maths tuition classes for Standard 4 till Form 3. I am also a certified TESOL (English) teacher. Subsequently after graduation, I started my working life in commerce and banking industry while teaching tuition part time for many years. My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and  being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems.   My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.  My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students’ personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world exampleswherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually.  I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorise things.  Nor do I do the students’ homework for them! I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.

I have been teaching SPM and IGCSE level Physics, Science and Maths for the past 6 years. My students have since graduated from school and are in the working arena, as well as pursuing their tertiary education in colleges.
