I graduated with second upper class in BSc in Business in 2010. I also completed MBA in UNITAR International University with CGPA of 3.88 in 2016 and ACCA Professional Qualification in 2020.   During my university studies, I was working as a part time tutor for around 4 years. I was handling BM, BI and Maths tuition classes for Standard 4 till Form 3. I am also a certified TESOL (English) teacher. Subsequently after graduation, I started my working life in commerce and banking industry while teaching tuition part time for many years. Currently I am full time lecturer in one of the tertiary colleges in Penang.   Overall I have more than 8 years of teaching tuition experience in English, Maths, Add Maths and Economics for secondary schools (SPM, IGCSE) and pre-university levels (STPM).

Tutoring Approach

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and  being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems.   My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.  My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students’ personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject. My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world exampleswherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually.  I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorise things.  Nor do I do the students’ homework for them! I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.

I have 3 years teaching experience as a private tutor. I would conduct the class based on the student's ability and make changes based on the progress. I just finished my degree in accounting and graduated with distinction. My advantage is that I have better understanding on the subjects and can provide a better and appropriate explaination to the students. 

Tutoring Approach

I will provide a demo class for the students, and generally know their understandings towards the particular subject. Then, I will plan for the teaching methods, and constantly update the schedule based on the progress. I would not give homeworks for the student unless it's necessary as sufficient practical questions would have been given during the classes. I would prefer students to contact me through whatsapp.

I have a strong academic background with Masters in Accounting and Finance from Birmingham City University with distinction and I am also an ACCA member. I have successfully tutored secondary school students and university students up to Masters level specializing in English, Mathematics, Accounting, Finance and Tax. I also have experience in tutoring ACCA, CAT, CPA students as well as students preparing their Masters thesis.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach is to find out my pupil's grasp of the subject first and try to bring in novel ways for the student to understand a new topic. Understanding a topic creates a permanent memory. I avoid rote learning and ensure that my pupils fully understand the topic being discussed.

I'm qualified in teaching Law paper  for A-Level, LLB, MUET, and any law papers. I have been lecturing for almost 10 year in a private university college and myjob is to teach students the proper method to answer question during exams. Tutoring Approach

My teaching method will depends on the student itself, which I want to help them learn using the most attractive way that the student and parents thinks. If the student prefer technology usage, then I shall go with that, if they prefer traditional method, so I will choose that. As the learning process requires both way communication, the most important is how the students want to learn.
