I plan my lesson, and make all the necessary preparation ahead, including photocopy of handouts, and lesson content. Lessons involve reading, writing, listening and speaking. Having a good command over the English language, especially grammar, allows me to deliver lessons of impeccable quality. I believe in Albert Einstein's quote "If you can't explain it simply, you don't understand it well enough.", and therefore, I make it a point of teaching in a simple, yet effective manner.

I make teaching experience interesting by conducting discussions and quizzes as to have a better understanding that how much the student has imbibed and what more we need to work on. I work according to a planned schedule, so the syllabus is completed on time and we have ample time of revision. This makes student work under no pressure.

From my work experience at the University of Sydney, I have learnt to develop my own teaching materials, and garnered skills to teach and facilitate students. My approach to teaching is unique, in that it is facilitative. I believe that spoon feeding students with information only leads to temporary and shallow understanding of topics. Hence, my materials are usually focused on providing solid basic concepts, after which I will ask questions and encourage students to think and express themselves. When students build their knowledge of a topic block by block with appropriate guidance, they essentially build a strong foundation in the topic which would help them become independent learners in the future. I will be providing students with notes that will cover everything they should know, and teach them to make supplementary notes on their own. The purpose of this is to ensure that students learn the skills to jot down what they have learnt and create a set of notes to consolidate their knowledge. As for teaching children and teenagers, I believe that positive reinforcement and incentives are the way to build their confidence in themselves. Young people should not be forced to learn, they should be inspired and motivated to learn. As part of my tutoring, I will cover the topics that are in their curriculum comprehensively. There will be a strong emphasis on helping students organise their time for self-study, and equipping them with tools and motivation to self-learn. I strongly believe that every student can succeed as long as they have the confidence in themselves, the tools and techniques of learning, as well as someone that believes in them and motivates them.
