Bachelor of Degree in Music
Bachelor in Music, Diploma in Children Behavior Management, Special needs, Children Psychology Early Childhood Music. I have 20 of teaching experience. I offer Music Theory, Keyboard and Piano lessons.
I am student centered tutor. My lessons will be conducted according to the students interests.
BSc (Hons) Economics and International Economics
I have a year of experience in tutoring Economics for Undergraduate international students and my students have showed amazing results with the notes I have self-prepared for them. In addition to that, I too have one year experience in tutoring English and Maths to students aged from 5 up to 12.
Children aged from 5-7 are at the primary age of learning. This is the period when their brain acts as a sponge, and it is extremely important to instil habits of reading in their daily life as well as feeding onto their curiosity as their brain starts to develop and craves for knowledge. As I can converse with all three languages, the children I have taught are very warm towards me. That will ultimately help the child's learning curve in the upcoming classes, for sure. Furthermore, I have the patience and care to find the right approach for your child as every child is different. In the first few classes, I would encourage parents to kindly not be in the presence of the class and children will tend to seek for confirmation or support from parents if they are nervous or scared. In conjunction with that, it would be greatly preferred for students to have a proper study area with quiet ambience to maintain the child's focus. Young children are easily distracted and as mentioned below, their attention span is rather short. I will also keep an eye on their posture as a child's sitting position plays a part as well in their learning curve. For English, my lessons are filled with games, picture dictionaries and sequenced pictures to allow the students to feed on their excitement for their next lessons. We will cover all of listening, writing, speaking and most importantly, reading. However, I strictly encourage children to have a maximum of 60-90 minutes of class maximum as a child's attention span is very short. I do not wish to bore the child and affect his/her learning curve. As for Mathematics, children aged 5-7 will be learning with puzzles as well as picture activities to help them understand. Children aged higher will either proceed or work towards progressing functions beginning with addition, subtraction, multiplication and then division. Of course, these will all depend on the child's ability given their previous classes attended, if any.
Bachelor Degree in Human Development
I am a tutor with 3P-patience, passion, and professional. I have been committed in the tutorial career for more than 20 years. I used to be a school teacher for both primary Chinese and secondary Kebangsaan school. I know well about the latest syllabus and the latest trend of the exam questions. I can teach well in a lot of subjects, especially those important subjects in UPSR, PT3 and SPM Level. Additionally, I also offer some basic language course--Mandarin and English, for adults. Once you have got me, you can rest assured. After all, I am an experienced and committedtutor with PASSION.
My approach of teaching is to be serious but not to be fierce to the student. I constantly encourage and motivate my students to achieve the best results in exam. I do not impose my students on their study. In fact, I motivate and inspire them. I do not like to "show off" to my students about how smart I am especially in solving Mathematics. I rather explain as clearly as I can to my students and make sure they understand the topics I teach. At the end of the day, students need guidance and motivation, BUT NOT to see a SHOW.
Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Member of MICPA since 1992.
For over 18 years, I have been Tutoring, Coaching and Mentoring students from Public Secondary Schools and Pre-Universities as well as those from CIE syllabus-based Private and International Schools. I teach subjects like Accounting, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, English First Language and ICT. I prepare students for the PT3, SPM and STPM exams and/or the CIE IGCSE, O-Level, AS and A2 Level exam.
First, I would go through the basic concepts for the subject concerned Second, I would explain in details some worked examples step by step. Then, students are given graded exercises to assess their full grasp on the principles just taught. They are encouraged to ask questions to clear any doubts they might have over the topic learned. Next, they attempt more challenging questions with minimal guidance for confidence building. I apply tailored-made teaching techniques according to each student’s learning capability. They are inculcated the importance of good study habits; a passion for learning and gaining knowledge. I employ positive reinforcement to challenge their limits, discover and realize their full potential for and by themselves. “No one is born an idiot. Likewise a genius is not born but made.” In summary, my tutoring methodology and student learning process are as follows: 1) Reading for Comprehension and Understanding 2) Observing for Relevance and Importance 3) Processing of Input Data 4) Analyzing and Interpreting Output Info 5) Concluding Outcome and Results 6) Responding to Question Requirements
Master of Music in Piano Performance
I consider myself a versatile musician and a passionate educator. As a performer, I have performed as a pianist and harpsichordist at the Chamber Music Series of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, as a composer, my music has been performed by the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and abroad; as a teacher, I have taught at several universities and private music schools. Some of my students have won scholarships to study at the music specialist school Wells Cathedral in the UK.
To me, rather than mindless drilling, finding natural ways of how the hands move is the key to solving many technical issues. Instead of asking for more feelings, my instructions are concrete. I see music education as a holistic education on aesthetics. Therefore, it gives me joy to see my students grow as a person, as much as a musician, to develop a sense of love for their surrounding, for culture and history etc.
Mr Wong is patient and nice, always well-prepared for lesson. His approach is direct and helpful, effectively helped me overcome some long-due technical problems. Hence, it isn't rigid, with added musical plans and sense, I'm able to free myself from struggles and bring out the musicality with ease. As a composer, he teaches theory not merely based on guidelines, instead, he facilitates topics with compositional ideas. I see myself grow comprehensively as a pianist under his tutelage.
Bachelor of Science (Mathematics), University of Malaya
I graduated secondary with 11A's including A+ for all maths related subjects. I studied physical science in Pre-U and finished with 4.0. My highest qualification is First Class Honours Bachelor in Mathematical Sciences from University of Malaya. I started teaching August 2015 and has been teaching secondary school mathematics of different syllabus including UEC and IGCSE, mainly PT3 and SPM. I am very passionate about mathematics and I aim to help in student's understanding towards it.
First and foremost, I do not forecast questions. One of the problems with students nowadays is they tend to study just for the sake of passing exam. I teach to help them understand how mathematics works and aim to help my students excel in it. I read through questions banks, trial papers, various school exam papers and also past year papers to come up with the collection of questions which I think can help my students the most. I treat my students like my friends and also my kids. I won't brag about how my students perform in their exams, but I promised improvement in understanding.
I really like the way she taught us. First, she will give us the definition of the topic and give briefly describe of that topic and the usage of it. She is a patient teacher. She is patience and teaches us step by step and tell us which step can score marks for the exam. She is a person who thinks out of the box and kind.
She is a nice and to be honest the best mathematics teacher ever in my life who taught me how equation is formed, She doesn't teach like what all the teacher did wrong (I speak, you note down, Done). Instead, she taught by giving understanding and explanation which I'm still using her method of teaching to help myself in my uni maths learning. Understanding instead of memorizing.
Her friendliness and her love for Maths. She taught me Add Maths in a simple way and I understood each topic of SPM Add Maths easily. Her fun way of teaching also made each lesson interesting. She guided me to obtain an A for Add Maths in my SPM.
She is a kind teacher. She will try to help the weaker students.
She is an excellent teacher. She teaches with full focus. She has a very good understanding towards maths and add maths and provides ample of exercises.
She explains and teaches us with a lot of details and she comes up with various interesting ways for us to memorize the information. Her teaching technique is very easy to understand and helpful.
Her methods are easy to understand and she tries to help me the best she can when I could not understand any question.
Her teaching style is very easy to understand and the explanations are very clear. If there are questions she is very open to answering and can be easily approached. Higly recommended teacher for me.
The way she explains about the topics we study is really unique.
Excellent in mathematics, I've learned a lot and improved my maths skills by these past few years. I really appreciate that. Thank you!
She is an incredible educator. We can see effectively when she instructing and my outcomes have improved a ton.
A very dedicated and passionate teacher. If a student can understand rather than memorizing, they can do better and can last long in their memory. That's what Ms Gan does. And that is the teaching method I prefer.

Bachellor Degree in Law
Students are to be taught (English class) mainly focusing on spoken and written skills in accordance with school syllabus. It is essential to prepare students for various types of skills, and not only limiting them to exams. For matapelajaran Sejarah (History) class, my main strength for this subject is, in fact, to have relatively good notes in order to memorise and ace the subject.
Lessons can be done in many ways, practice, notes and being creative. Teaching need not be boring and essentially needs to strive more than what is required out of both tutor and students.
