I prefer one-to-one teaching method, as it is very effective because it enables me to identify and focus on the weaknesses of the students and work on it to improve their grades. Besides, I do focus on demonstration, explanation and recitation as teaching methods. I prioritise helping my students understand the basic concepts of the subject being taught, which ultimately helps them to score in exams. Only by understanding the base of the subject being taught, can a student really remember the lesson, and apply it in everyday life and exams. I also know a lot of neat tips and tricks to solve a problem faster and easier, as I was a student not long ago, and always looked for the fastest way to solve a problem. Personally, I am a visual learner so I truly empathise with you or your child who needs more detailed explanations especially with the help of pictures and colours. I believe each student has their own unique way of strategic learning as well as their own definition of productivity. Hence for my approach, I will choose to go casual and friendly so that this "tuition" does not feel burdensome. I also use online materials like videos to spice up the learning process, which I believe helps TREMENDOUSLY compared to traditional printed books. I also prefer to discuss the learning outcomes periodically with the student/parents (pre- or post- tutoring) so that both our expectations are set and none of the parties get left out in the journey. With that said, I trust that practice makes perfect. Because success is 1% talent/luck, 99% dedication.
