Tutoring Approach

I'm free to teach on all days except on Saturdays as I've class too. I'll prefer in the class can we hold on during weekdays. I'll teacher 1 hour and 30 minutes per subject. My teaching method will be through Zoom app and I'll provide the materials and my knowledge when I teach the students in my ways. The fees will be RM 10 per hour, so since it's 1 hour and 30 minutes, it's only RM 15 per class.

I have provided tutelage for English at a primary and secondary level students for 2 years. I favor a face-to-face teaching style, albeit online teaching is fine with me too. My field of expertise is exclusively focused upon teaching English only, as I believe that it's better being a master of one trade than to be a jack of all trades. It is an enjoyment as well as a worthwhile experience for me in terms of helping my students excelling in the English language verbally and by the pen.

My lessons are centered around the student's syllabus. However, I will make some adjustments to make sure my student gets the most holistic education out of their time. Goals will be set to track the learning progress of my students and act as a practical method in achieving the highest potential possible. Recapping previous lessons is a staple in my class.

I have had 5 years of teaching experience in government primary school, government secondary school and private learning centre and I've taught students from as young as preschool level to adults. I have strong command in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Chinese and can converse very well in these three languages. I can work very well with students and most of my students improved under my teaching and guidance.

 

Tutoring Approach

Before I teach, I need to understand the level of the student. Therefore some pre-assessment either in the form of verbal, quizzes or essay regarding a topic will be carried out before assessing the student. The selection of books used will also be discussed and agreed upon both parties (teacher and student/student's parents). When I teach, not only do I focus on the student's academic result but I also emphasize on their character development because that is what it takes for them to go far in the future. Parents or guardians will be updated on the students progress on a weekly/monthly basis, depending on their request. I also believe that students will learn better in a small group through interaction with their peers therefore a group of 3 to 4 is most ideal for students to learn and grow.
