I have 13 years teaching experience to date in various types of schools: Private, International and Government secondary/high school as well as working for language institutes, such as Berlitz. I am a highly qualified French/Spanish and English as a foreign language teacher. I have taught Corporate and General English, prepared students for University entry level exams such as the IELTS and Accuplacer, and taught the Civil guards in Malaga, Spain.

Tutoring Approach

When teaching, I adopt a creative and communicative approach where students participate and interact with on another or with the teacher in the target language as much as possible. This, I find, boosts their confidence and ability, especially when using role plays. If the student is struggling, of course they can ask in English, it depends on the Student. Reading writing ,listening and spoken skills will all be dealt with in every class.

Tutoring Approach

My classes are fun, entertaining and relaxing and the groups are small; no more than 5 per class. Spanish is an easy language if the facilitator uses the right approach and to learn a language it has to be fun, but well prepared; that is, fun with a sense of responsibility and commitment. I focus on the 4 skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking); I do not focus too much on grammar, I'd better have the students discover it by themselves; just as we learn our mother tongues without any awareness of grammar. The textbooks used in class “PRISMA” come from Universidad Politecnica of Madrid - Spain; they were developed specifically to teach Spanish to non-native speakers, they follow the Common European Framework; and they are based on the curriculum of Instituto Cervantes.
