Tutoring Approach

My teaching approach is depending on every student's needs and also guide students in working out solutions to exam questions. I usually won't provide students with answer directly, instead I will guide and encourage them to answer the questions and this helps them in understanding as well as remembering the contents better. Other than that, I also provide students with notes which are easier for them to understand.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching philosophy has always been linking the study topics to everyday situations. When I am conducting a lecture, I would also constantly link my lectures to popular culture (e.g books and movies) so it would stimulate interest of the students rather than depending the brain to memorise the full details. I also find my experience in cross-curricular teaching (MBBS, Pharmacy, Biomedical Science) very helpful as I am able to discuss the topics in depth and also expand the topics appropriately.

Generally, I used the first half of the first session to get to know the student's standard and learning patterns. I practice the VARK learning system to suit each student's need. I prefer to use analogies and flow diagrams to encourage a better understanding of a subject.

I typically like to meet parents and the students before I decide to take them on. This allows both parties to understand each other better. It also gives us the opportunity to clarify our respective expectations. For the actual learning process, I do not believe in rote memoraization as I think it is futile in helping you (the student) to grow. My tutoring philosophy comes down to two simple things; understand and practice.I prefer to break down complex topics into simpler pieces so that students can digest it. Also, I believe that you should practice rigourously to become good in anything.

My style of teaching is mainly focus on the 'exam type' of question. My qualification PMR 2006 - 7A SPM 2008 - 7A; GCE O Level and English Language for A1 Foundation in Mechanical Engineering.
