Experience

I graduated with Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Business and Management. I can also converse in Chinese and Bahasa Melayu, therefore, you (or your child) do not need to be fluent in English to understand my lessons. I am willing to go to Kepong, Damansara, Desa Sri Hartamas, Bandar Menjalara, Taman Bukit Maluri and surrounding areas. I possess a car; therefore, I can travel somewhere further upon request.

Tutoring Approach

For my tutoring approach, I will firstly assess the student's understanding and capability of the subject. From the assessment, I will be able to tackle their strengths and weaknesses on the subject. I also believe that all children's learning method and capability are different therefore the tutoring approach can be tailored to ensure maximum learning can be taken place. Confucious once said "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." therefore I do believe that giving the children homework and exercises on top of the lessons or topic explained during classes will help them to understand more in depth.

Experience

I have over 5 years of teaching.

I taught Mathematics in a secondary school in Malaysia as a full-time teacher under Ministry of Education (MOE) -- as part of the Teach For Malaysia Fellowship. In addition to teaching Mathematics to Form 1,2,4, and 5, I taught English and Science to Form 3 students.

I can give instructions in both English and Bahasa Melayu. I taught both weak and high performing students.

Currently working in at a non-profit organisation that champions excellent education for all. 

Tutoring Approach

I would provide a general diagnostic test before we start tutorial sessions, to gauge and understand where the students strengths and weaknesses are. These will test fundamental concepts, and are independent to the syllabus. Once the diagnostics administered, tutorials will begin by scheduling how to match school syllabus, and start with where the students need immediate help. 

Students progress is imperative, and I would provide guidelines to parents as well as to the students to keep themselves accountable in ensuring there are progress and achievement. 

In addition to the workbooks, I would provide study notes, both written and printed from time to time to help students remember key formulas and concepts.
