Experience

I have 10 years of teaching experience in both private college and school (igcse and local syllabus) as science and math teacher. Currently I'm teaching in an international school. Subjects that I offer are: - Primary and Secondary Mathematics - Primary and Secondary Science - Secondary Biology, Chemistry, Physics - Primary Mandarin

Apart from academic subjects, I also teach music (piano, keyboard) for young children starting from 4 years old and above. I have 12 years of music teaching experience (part time)

Tutoring Approach

My style of teaching is straight to the point. I always summarize the contents of any subject to my students so that they gain confidence and not confused or intimidated by all the wordy text in their textbooks. I also developed some techniques that help students to memorize key points and understand concepts in a shorter time.

Experience

I am graduated from UTAR, with first class degree in BSc(HONS) Chemistry. Currently, I am working as an Engineer in a well-established MNC. My mother is a secondary teacher, who has been teaching Form 3 Science and Form 4, 5 Chemistry over 20 years. I get to gain insight from my mother's lecture class on how to interact with students and how to make science and chemistry classes as interesting as possible. I have been tutoring Chemistry classes for more than 1 year.

Tutoring Approach

Chemistry might sound difficult to some students especially when it comes to equation writing and calculation. Some students might face difficulties when coming to the paper 3 (designing of the experiment) where memorization is the only thing they can do as no experiment has been carried out in school. In my tuition session, lab experiment will be illustrated in pictures or video form for better understanding. Real life examples/scenario will be given for clearer illustration, followed by attempting past year question to have an overview on how the exam questions will be like. If you are facing difficulties in attempting science or chemistry questions, or you feel it is difficult to memorize all the chemical equations, calculations and observations, I am the one who you are looking for to help you out.
