Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm a Music Diploma and Degree holder graduated from ASWARA. I've been a music instructor since 2009, started as a kindergarten teacher. I'm very friendly and I work well with younger children and adults. I specialise in classical, pop piano/keyboard and pop vocals.

Tutoring Approach

My method of teaching piano covers various types of music, not just classical studies. I like to explore pop and jazz too. Learning music theory is a part of my teaching syllabus as I want my students to know how to write and read music notations. If you feel like singing and playing the piano, look no further! I am more than happy to share all my knowledge with you. Just a little update, I have started venturing into online teaching through Zoom/Skype/Google Meet/Whatsapp. So those in the area I do not cover, you can learn from the comfort of your own home! Tutoring Approach

The main idea is to allow my students to enjoy the music that they are playing, ensuring that the students are constantly creating and loving the music that they produce on the instrument(s) for the rest of their lives. Exposing students to various musical genres (pop, jazz, rock, classical, etc) will allow them to create their own music - improvise and compose - to be curious about music - read music - accompany/play in a band I always make sure that my students are having fun, through games, stories, stress-free learning, and allowing them to play music that they desire. Both teacher and student will get to plan the lesson to make it engaging. Students will be exposed to many more songs in a typical lesson while exploring various musical genres.

In general, for playing a piece, I start off by going through the history of the composer/genre through storytelling, and then introducing the breakdowns of the rhythm and dynamics to help them understand the piece.
